Environmental Commitment
Seattle -Tacoma International Taxi Association (STITA) is dedicated to protecting the environment and reducing air quality emissions while still providing excellent customer service to Port travelers. Today, we have over 120 natural gas fueled taxis on the road. Over the last several years we have rapidly implemented the natural gas vehicle program, substantially upgrading our vehicle fleet from gasoline to natural gasoline taxis. Compressed natural gas burns cleaner and reduces air pollution which allows for better air quality in the Puget Sound.
Our fleet is comprised primarily of CNG taxis, but STITA has supplemented with Toyota Prius Taxis in recent years which gives us more range. We believe there are very few taxi companies in the world with this green of a vehicle taxi fleet. Although it has come at substantial cost to the owner operators of STITA, we are proud to lead the Norhtwest with our environmental commitment.
